The wiki for this class is located at http://mmcaulfield.wikispaces.com. This is a private page, which means anyone can view, but only those special few (that’s you guys) are actually allowed to edit or change information or to make comments on the forum. Please remember, that this page is an extension of the classroom, therefore all rules and policies of Westfield-Washington Schools do apply. I receive notification each time the page is altered or edited, so keep that in mind when you’re online.
In order to edit or discuss, you will need your username, which you supplied to me earlier this week. Your password is preset randomly, so you may want to change this to something you can remember ASAP.
Creating Your Page
To create your page, click on New Page in the top left corner of this page. When you are asked for your page name, title it according to the class's decision. You will then have to add your page to the navigation bar on the left. To do so, click on Edit Navigation at the bottom of the list to the left. Type the name of your page under the double line which separates the information pages from the student pages. Before you save, highlight your title and click on the Add Hyperlink button on the Editor bar. Choose your page from the drop down menu, then save. Your page should appear on the navigation bar under the double line.
Discussion
Discussion forums are open . If you have a question about how to do something or want to discuss any general aspect of this unit, use the discussion located from the home page. Otherwise, use the discussion tabs located on your pages.
Editing When you go to your page, you should see a green box on the right which says Edit This Page. You must click this button in order to edit. You may edit any aspect of your page; however, do not change the look of the entire wiki. Any images you use from other web pages must be cited in your Bibliography section.
You can easily figure out the purpose of each button on your Editor bar by hovering over the button. Two buttons you may want to look at include the Insert Images and Files button and the Embed Widget button.
Adding an Image or File to Your Page
This button may be used to add images or media to your page. You upload a copy of the file in order to add it to your page, however.
Click the Insert Images and Files button.
Use the "Upload New File" or "External Image URL" dialog to select the image or file you wish to put on your page.
Put the cursor at the position on the page where you wish to put the image or file.
Double click the image or file to put it on the page.
